Cross-border warranty?

I know that Yamaha Canada will NOT honour warranties on new engines purchased in the US but what about the other three - Honda, Suzuki and Mercury? Will they or won't they honour cross-border warranties? I can't find anything in writing on this.

When I had a problem with Mercury a few years back, no problem at all!

I think I've got it down to this:

Yamaha - definite no as per their own documentation
Honda - definite no, same as above
Merc - maybe but I can't find it in a company document
Suzuki - maybe but their documentation is a little ambiguous

I'm looking at some new boats from down south and I'd sure like to pin this down.

merc yes - north american product

yamaha, honda no, overseas product shipped to a country
suzuki i assume would be the same.

it may be worth buying a boat with a high hour engine, bringing the boat up, sell the engine and repower - or just sell any engine you get anyways and repower if your worried about warranty
