FYI - For the first time in 4 years there is a kill fishery for Coho on the Cowichan again.
Check out the DFO website for the official posting, but from what I've heard limits are 1 per day over 35 cm and one under 35 cm.
The whole river is open to fishing, but the area you can keep Coho is from Skutz Falls down to the Siver Bridge.
The bait ban is still in place above the Silver Bridge.
Is there enough in the river to justify the fishery? It appears like it from I've been hearing.
