Subject: Pacific Salmon Foundation Community Rountables
The Pacific Salmon Foundation is developing a proposal that aims to identify probable causes of declines and to identify strategies to improve the production of Coho and Chinook stocks in the Strait of Georgia. They will be hosting a community meeting on September 8th 7-9pm at the West Van Community Centre, 2121 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, to inform the public about this proposed initiative, and to gather information regarding ongoing community initiatives, observations and ideas with respect to changes that have been noticed in the estuarine and marine environments of the Strait of Georgia. Refreshments will be provided. You can also subscribe to http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/SOGProgram/join and post messages online. Please feel free to distribute to other interested parties.
Meetings will also be held on the following dates/times:
August 19th 7-9pm Travelodge Conference Centre, Duncan
August 20th 7-9pm Oliver Woods Community Centre, Nanaimo
September 2nd 7-9pm Maritime Heritage Centre, Campbell River
September 9th 7-9pm Sechelt Arts Centre, Sechelt
September 10th 4.30-6.30pm Recreation Complex, Powell River
