My wife and friend came ashore on Strongtide Island just off the north end of Chatham Island around 2 pm yesterday, left their kayaks on the beach and went to the leeward side of this small island to soak up a bit of sun.
Gone maybe an hour...did hear a boat come in or go by the windward (west) side and didn't think much of it.
A brand new Garmin GPS MAP 64s in a case and GoPro Black 5 on a spider tripod were tucked under the kayak straps.
When they returned the GPS and GoPro were gone.
What more can I say other then there are people out there who are constantly on the lookout for an opportunity to take what is not theirs!
