Chilko/Anahim area late August

Hey guys,
Any thoughts on the fishing up in the Anahim Lake/Chilko lake area during the last week of August? A bunch of us will be out camping and fishing but have never experienced it. We'll be ready for anything....fly gear, spinning gear, drift fishing gear and we have have a boat to get out and troll around. Would love to know how those lakes/rivers fish and what to expect ie. Kokanee, Rainbow, Char etc.
Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Thanks!

While you are there make sure you fish the Upper Dean River. Lots of anxious hungry trout...not big but so eager you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face. All dry fly and doesn't matter if you are an expert caster or river fisher or a novice, the fishing is so much fun. Ask the locals about access points. Without a drift boat they are limited but there are some spots. Enjoy! Oh, and to your question about Anahim Lake and Chilko Lake, I have only fished Anahim and the fishing is good for medium sized trout. Supposed to be some linkers but I never saw any. Problem with Anahim is the number of cabins, float planes, etc. It is right on the highway and lots of traffic....for the Chilcotin, that is.
