Calm water salmon or halibut spots Oak Bay

Not sure how it works on first Nations land but no one owns the land below the high tide mark on non native land. I have not problem using the nice beach on the south west corner of Chatham to strechs my legs. The keep off signs are posted above the high tide mark.
 
I would suggest you figure out how the currents move and use that to plan your trip too. 10kts into a strong tidal rip is ugly in a 14.
