Fishings slowing down here at Kitty. Thinking about heading north.
Any action from Browns bay areas?

I was up in McNeill and it was slow. Stopped on the way down and fished Hall Pt. Slow there too. Seen one fish netted at Hall.

I've heard that the Stuart Island fishing has been slower than slow...... Not just lately but for most of the summer.

Hopefully it will pick up somewhere. I am going away somewhere on the 17,18 & 19th. Not sure where to yet. Reports help lots so keep them coming.

Tried browns bay today, caught and released a couple of sockeyes :( No pinks, no springs. It was windy and the chop took all the fun out of trolling around. On a good note checked the traps on the way home and got our limit of dungy's. I heard that the fishing at hall point , denam bay wasn't to bad with some large coho around.

Anyone fished Brown's Bay recently? Heading up to Stewart and am hearing that it is quiet. Was wondering what the other side is doing?

It would be good to hear some reports from Browns Bay? I hear Chum are staging North of Chatham... Still springs at Thurston but getting smaller from the 40's last week.

I heard there was 5 or more tyees caught in the Sonora Derby and a 44# or something like that won it. Typical September fishing up there.... big fish potential, but usually few and far between.

LOL 27.5lbs won the derby that ended this weekend. One of my buddies was the guide. Pretty slow up at Stuart. Managed one 22lbs. Beautiful weather though. Great way to finish off the summer.

The 44 was caught recently at a different derby up there. You didn't hear?

Tommy T will land the big one this weekend fo sure.

Anyone who lands ANY fish has a good chance of winning. But from what Steve tells me, if anyone is getting the BIG ONE it is very likely Tommy T will get it. Very respected guide for sure.

NOTE:

1. The target species in this fishery is chum salmon, the incidental catch of
pink salmon may be retained in the areas open to fishing. There will be non-
retention of sockeye, coho, chinook, and steelhead.

2. Seine vessel masters are reminded that logbooks, operating revival tanks and
brailing are mandatory as condition of their licence and are legal requirements.

3. The mandatory logbook and phone-in program will be in effect similar to the
Johnstone Strait sockeye and pink fishery. Vessel masters are reminded to
provide start and end fishing reports to the service provider by phoning AMR at
1-888-387-0007. Vessel masters are also reminded that within 48 hours of
stopping fishing to offload catch or within two (2) hours of completing
offloading catch, whichever comes first, to provide to the service provider the
weight by species (in pounds) of fish offloaded. Note that a phone report is
required for all fishing activity even if no fish are caught. Failure to report
zero catches may result in the over estimation of total catch.
