Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

We just had a pretty ****** experience looking at a used boat out of California.

Had a deal in place subject to ticking boxes with marine survey etc. Guy agreed, let the survey happen which came back really good. Start to arrange payment etc, guy then decides to sell the boat for more to someone else. Really sad, was a beautiful Almar 26 footer. Unfortunate people don't keep their word. We are out a good chunk of survey fees and inspection.

A purchase contract subject to survey is the way to go. Legally you have recourse if they back out, whether you'd want to bother would be another question. But it does keep the tom-foolery to a minimum.
