Big rainbows ice fishing interior

Ice fishing for some of the biggest trout I have ever caught. These submarine rainbows below ice are absolute pigs and have a healthy diet of scuds or shrimp. This lake underwent some retrofitting with rotenone poison and once cleared of invasive species it was restocked with trout. These trout have grown so fast and really do make an exciting day of fishing. Here are some of my tips to chosing a lake in your area that may have some giant trout just like these.

some of the problems associated with
winter fishing unfortunately are not
favorable to a sustainable fishery.
most that do so are there only with
production of food source in mind.

generally considered a sport but rarely
are fish returned after a brief encounter
albeit put and take or not. once word
gets out and with the help of social media
pressure can and does ramp up quickly
through repeated success.

givin the remoteness weather conditions
and lack of official resources all contribute to an unbalance of productive growth.

I released all fish caught and promote releasing large fish. I did not say the name or location of the fishery. Unfortunately word is already out on this one, but I still won't be advertising it any more than already has. Nothing wrong with going ice fishing and keeping fish for the table. That's why they are stocked and the reason there is a retention limit. BC seems to have enough no Ice fishing, fly fishing only, single barbless, bait ban lakes with reduced take limits for the purest like yourself. No lamenting necessary in this great fishing province in my oppinion.
