Sounds like the brands may remain separate. Abbotsford Cabelas is open and I think Tswassen Bass Pro has its Grand Opening this week.

Depressing reading in that CBC piece. Another activist investor drives through a merger that will be unlikely to benefit the customers, suppliers or employees of either company. The guy will take his profit and move on, probably won't own a single share in a month from now. Meantime the repercussions of the merger will be felt for years by the real stakeholders. My business motto remains unchanged: "Keep it small, keep it all."
