Area 20, Area 29, Area 18 Whale Harassment Thread - Summer and Fall 2018

This to post up concerns of whales being harassed. Feel free to post up anything observed in water, and blasting etc posts from military. Be sure to state what area its from. The idea is to have central location to collect info.

As you know we now have foraging areas closed with recreational fishing completely closed. Some groups such as whale watching, commercial crab fishery, and military are still using these areas.

If you use a picture please state the area and date.

Lets keep it on topic and not drift.

The Whale Chasing fleet in Steveston Harbour went from two three years ago to at least six last year 2 red 2 blue and 2 yellow boats. Thats just in one location.

Like it. Hope everyone keeps gathering more evidence. If we truly care about the whales, it comes down to everyone doing their part to reduce physical and acoustic disturbance! We also need DFO and this government to step up and start investing hard capital into Chinook enhancement, habitat improvement, and reducing pinniped predation.
