There was a lot of top rods (you can imagine who i would be talkin about, as I saw them there) that were fishin west of sheringham last season. If this happens well be there again, and Im sure the crowds would be a little thicker.....at least there is lots 'o room

Not to say it still won't happen , but i just went to the DFO website
and there is no announcement on salmon fishing...
That said, there is one on Halibut that i fined somewhat confusing

thats for the com fleet RS, we open march 1st and thats a finall. Season is and has always been opening march 8th(for the coms,and that was decided quite a while ago).....waiting on the salmon news

Further to Fishery Notice FN0044:

In order to manage within domestic halibut allocations, the following changes
will be implemented in the 2008 recreational fishery:

Coastwide
---------

March 1 to 31: Daily limit of one. Possession limit of 3.
April 1 to May 31: Daily limit of one. Possession limit of 2.
June 1 to Dec 31: Daily limit of two. Possession limit of 2.

Areas 121, 23 and 123
---------------------

April 1 to Dec 31:

" No person shall fish for or retain halibut, rockfish and lingcod in that
portion of Area 121 seaward of a line that begins at 48 degrees 34.000 minutes
north latitude and 125 degrees 17.386 minutes west longitude and continues
southeasterly at a bearing of 116 degrees true to a point at 48 degrees 28.327
minutes north latitude and 125 degrees 01.687 minutes west longitude. [12

Well, it's the 29th. I guess Springs are still a Go? Or will the powers to be, be so kind to amuse us with a 2359 Hrs, Feb/29th notice for March 1st/08 [?] Or perhaps there is a notice already on the DFO site? Who knows, a guy could spend hours on there and find nothing,lol [)]

and you're right, there's no announcement for Chinook.....
