One of my fish today had some weird colorations on its stomach (on it's plyoric caecae?) appeared to be deep purple/brown. I have never seen this in a salmon before, I showed the creel survey guy and he said he had never seen it either. After throwing it to the seals I realized I should have kept it and sent it in somewhere to get analyzed. Anyone else ever seen this in a salmon before? The fish was healthy and the meat looked fine. For next time where would you send the stomach to be analyzed?
