ALONE Season 2

Hey Guys,

Was fortunate enough to get the call again this year to be the official rescue team and operation head quarters for the second season of AlONE filmed up here in the Quastino area this fall.

Wanted to let everyone know that season 2 airs tonight on the History Channel at 6 and 8 pm.

I am thinking it is going to be as good if not better than last year. They had an amazing group of survivalist this year including 3 women that really knew what they were doing. They have 13 episodes this year as there is a TON of cool stuff that goes on.

Hope you all can tune in.

Cheers

Good on yah buddy, I really enjoyed last season for sure. Looking forward this year, sounds fascinating with the girls in the mix.;) eman

Can't wait! I have been looking forward to this for a year Wade.
What these people did last year is really understated...gonna be great.

I think most last year were sceptical to the whole "Alone" part of the show.

I can assure everyone that they are completely alone! We were set up a bit closer in response time this year than last. Protacal was within 45 mins of any contestant at anytime. Some were right at that and some were closer.

Looking forward to seeing all the episodes myself. Do know who comes out when but have no idea how each show has been put together.

Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks.

Looks like they are moving to Patagonia for season 3.

Anyone out there going to signup?

Too bad they're moving it. Part of the fun is watching them in ground a lot of us here are familiar with.

Thanks for the heads up,Bearcove. This is the only reality TV show I've ever found that's worth watching. It helps that it's
filmed in our neck of the woods.Looking forward to this season!

Quote of the night was from Desmond quoting Mike Tyson.

"Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the face."

Well I enjoyed the first episode, wish they would have introduced all 10 contestants, not just focus on 4 of them.

Our big US military boy Desmond didn't like the idea of sleeping with the bears. I liked his quote's at the beginning too, " If someone sees me in a fight with a bear, they better help the bear" or "I'll be coming home with a bear skin coat" a little bear crap and he pulled the pin.

I was a little iffy about him when I dropped him off, seemed to have real confidence but his eyes told a different story.

Kildonan,

I guess they want to keep it fresh, they can only have so many people afraid of the bears, cougars and that crap until people loose interest in the show. Sounds like they start shooting season 3 next month.

Looking forward to seeing the show in a different area, will give it a new feel, set of challenges. From what I understand Vancouver Island will be used again in the next few years, most likely not up in my area but along the coast somewhere.

Watched it last night... Good to see the ladies in the mix..my money is on one of them taking the money home..... :)

Love the show bear cove, had to give my good pal gracey a call when I saw him on the bow when you guys were nosing into pick up Desmond! Must have been a hoot having Luke on the film crew

Rescue Specialist Lucas Grayson, he was the only one that took part in all 10 rescues, has some stories for sure. Was fun having him part of the team, looking forward to having him back again this summer in Hardy.

It seems that the people who blow the hottest air about themselves before they arrive at a place are usually the first ones to go home on most of the survival-type shows I've watched.

The ex cop/military lady on the show kind of reminds me of Sue Aiken (Life Below Zero) in a way. She could be a contender.

The number one attribute IMO for survival is 90% mental attitude/ mental toughness.

It is said that humans have two natural fears:-
(1) fear of the unknown
(2) fear of animals

This show combines both of those......

I knew Desmond was out of there as soon as I saw the look on his face when he discovered the first pile of bear-crap.

Hmmm. So they were told never to eat any kind of shellfish because of red tide. Good thing they aren't actual shipwreck survivors. Or they might have gone ahead and eaten some.

Enjoyed it as well, saw it just last night. Got my wife watching this season and as Seafever has said the ex cop lady reminded us of Sue from below zero as well. She seems to have the emotional fortitude to go far.
Think everyone new Desmond was done... Love the quote from Wade...his eyes told a different story.

Set your PVR's for tomorrow night boys, 6 and 8 on History. Been told that it's suppose to be a good episode. I have no idea what's going to happen, watching these shows for the first time just like all of you.

Enjoy.

My money is on Tracy (out of the first 4 anyway). Plenty of 'storage' and the right attitude. Loved whatever it was she said - I'm 270 lbs, if something is coming after me, I'm obviously not running, so its gonna be a dogfight! So they are cryptic on location but I read that it is the Winter Harbour area. Is that right (or you can't say?)

Yeah, shame on Patagonia, but I watch most of the survivor type shows regardless, it is just nice with the local scenary.

If you fish winter Harbour a lot like I do-you recognize shots of islands and even some bays. I am sure we anchor in a few spots. Pretty sure I recognized browning inlet on a couple of shots.

Deewar25,

I am not sure if I can give exact location or not, so I will just say that they were in that generally area. Some of them were as close as 1.5 miles from each, not having any clue that they were that close. Others were up to 25 miles from from some of the contestants.

We had to be within 45 mins at any given time from the furthest contestant so we had a 24 hour rescue team on standing by over in the Quastino Sound area ready to go whenever. Was very exciting as you never knew when someone was going to tap, hurt themselves, get scared or just plain want to go home.

Looking forward to tonights show. Like hearing everyone thoughts too.

Was there really a shellfish closer last fall or were the contestants just told that it was off limits?
