Algae Blooms

Lots of closures for bivalves http://www-ops2.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/f...g=view_notice&lang=en&ID=recreational&ispsp=1 mainly for potential red tide Paralytic shellfish poisoning, and sanitary closures around outfalls, marinas and docks. We sometimes get hit on the outer waters with a domoic acid closure on crabs too, but if there are any right now I have not heard of them. The other nasty that is always lurking in our waters is VIBRIO P. Its like Montezuma's revenge on steroids... i know, because I got it from eating raw oysters right off the beach... no more raw ones except during the winter now.

The closures you have south of us are just plain scary... This page was buried by the main story-- but it deserves a read http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/razorclams/domoic_acid.html

Last summer was bad at times. I've heard it affects fish behavioral and migratory patterns but since I'm not a fish, I can't verify that.
