had some buisness on the island last week,went through active pass on the ferry, never saw one boat fishing,and this was a fri.am Water was calm. i could see all the way to the cable hole no one around, this time of year it should have a few people around. is it closed or fishing that bad?

Might possibly be because at 8:30 am it was ebbing at 4 knots and at 3 pm it was flooding at 5.1 knots.
Nope, nice guess but it wasn't the currents. I was on the 9am ferry and the current was only about 2kn in the Pass and was quickly approaching slack so that was a perfect time to be fishing. On the 7pm ferry the currents would have been just over 2kn and were increasing so it was still very fishable.
