Abandoned boats, where to report?

I was visiting Chemainus, and last week there was a 1979 Glassply with numbers 15K2045 sitting abandoned at the top of the ramp. Municipal Dept task, to the dump?

Couple of those taking up space at the ramp in Ladysmith also. I will look into that because I need the parking myself!

This bulletin informs vessel owners of new insurance requirements for all vessels of 300 gross tonnage and above. The new requirements come from the

• Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act; and the
• International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007 (“Wreck Removal Convention”), which comes into force in Canada on July 30, 2019.

Should only be a couple more decades before the feds actually change the Canada Shipping Act to address the problems of small boat ownership and their responsibilities.
If the feds changed two sentences in the Act it would eliminate this whole problem. As someone who sat on boards and focus groups and other BS meetings it became clear that many within the government agencies DO NOT want this problem to go away anytime soon.
