Well have been out since 7 and had a few decent bites and 1 wild Coho we released A pod of orcas swam through about 12:30 so I’m not expecting much more action now.

Took me 3 days of fishing to get one fish a few weeks ago. So that is making me want to put the boat away. I got my tyee this year so I think that is helpful to that decision. I say go for it next week if you still need some fish for the freezer. I got 4 fish this year from 20lbs-30lbs.

We got a marble 15 On Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning there were 35 minutes of non stop bites On both chovie and white hoochie, terminating in losing a +25lb to a seal beside the boat. There was about an hour of no bites and then the pod of 25-35 resident orcas came through so we left sand heads. Back to the gulf for some ling and found a keeper “winter” Chinook as a bonus. Hoping that foreshadows a good winter fishery.

When does fisheries to cap stop producing?

I think it will be perfect after today the heavy rains are done, pretty sure this will get that bulk of fish here soon and all next week sun and river drops
just might be a good 2 weeks of fishing... we hope anyways, Cap has a mind of it's own every year the fish always arrive all together or one at a time...

Anyone else out for the NV “derby” tomorrow? Going to sneak out of work early and throw the full kit on. @Rain City if your out I like my bacon extra crispy. Kinda hoping the **** weather makes for an easier tack. Will report back tomorrow.
