Had a 10 lb fish and one a hit under at thrasher , 5 - 6 boats saw no other action, 6 inch spoon naked in 220 took both. Headed to harbour on the way home
 
Beauty flat calm morning in the harbour. Blow and swell past light house - white caps.

Prawn traps down. Lines down soon.
 
Ended up without a single hookup. Thankfully that hasn’t happened for quite some time. Did really well on prawns despite many commercial traps now around.

Met one party who boxed 1 west of Bowen. That was it.

I thought the commercial prawn season wasn't open yet?
 
I’m 100% certain I read commy digits on 2 large buoys (1 string) west of passage and south of Bowen. Really close to the new glass sponge closures.

Perhaps they are crabbing in 300’ of water?

Test fishery?
