It's NEVER about the gas money lol. Recreational fishing is the worst business plan on the planet. #firstworldproblems
I agree, but my wife can think of a better use for the $1,000+ that I spend on it every month and don't even get me started on the tackle amount lol.

Nice pic, high rises kind of wreck it for me but still awesome pic.

Stunning day out there today. Bagged a 10 ish pounder and let go a few small off Bowen. All @ 147 on rigger.
Tried a new prawn spot but total swing and miss

Nice work, I'm guessing you were off rc or in
tunstall? We hit grace and hut again and got shut out. I'm getting the sense that fish are out in the straits still. But we did great for prawns in Howe Sound with 100 males and about 30 massive females sent gently back down. Amazing day for sure.

if you don't mind sharing, what did you catch them on?

Yeah was off tunstall. Small schools of bait hanging around there, stomach was completely empty though.
Was running a salty dawg and outfitter skinny g. no other combos got any action today.

Similar to what we were running. Anyway looks like the weather might be ok later this week so I'm thinking of a run up to the sunshine coast over night Friday and Saturday. Have a look around, awesome out there this time of year.

Since some people enjoyed my other sockeye videos I'm finally getting around to editing more footage now that the days are shortened. Here is the first time we went out this year with the wife and kids.

One day after work I decided off a whim to try it out with the family for the first time. Loaded up the boat and headed out since the online reports looked amazing for the day. when we got to the Sandheads lighthouse we were shocked to see a hundred or so boats trolling and catching fish right there. We went out past them and hit the 400 foot mark and got the trolling gear down. As soon as the lines were down the camera wasn't even set up all four rods went off and we got three sockeye in the boat and an undersized chinook. Then we put on the camera and the rest of the crazy action that you'll see continued. Lots of fun with the wife who was just a couple weeks from delivering our third daughter and my two other girls. Everyone was in on the action. What a mess at points but so much fun. Caught a hatchery coho and a nice sized Chinook salmon right as the sun was setting as well. We felt super fortunate for first timers to be heading home with 9 salmon in a couple of hours on the water after work.

Aaaah the constant struggle of trying to get your wife to keep the tip up. ;)
Great video man I can only hope that's where my family ends up with fishing. Good for all of you.

That's impressive that your wife is out fishing at 39 weeks pregnant!
