2016 Alberni Inlet

There definitely moving after the Rain, here's a pic from this afternoon from the old bridge below sproat lake. If you look closely you can see the line of sockeye moving up to the lake.

Tried tonight 7:15-9:15 around China Creek with 6-7 other boats....SLOW for everyone. Didn't mark much at all.
2 hits and no hook ups for us running 4 rods with 3 daisy chains.
I sure do hope first light is better.

Tough grind today.
About 100-110 boats by China Creek today. A few small schools where you can scratch out a few but not many success stories. The forecast looks for Monday and on looks awesome and should stack up a lot of fish.

Good bite till 8am today, lots of nets out for most boats. 45-50 was our depth, most action on Bon Chovy flasher (80% of our fish)

Tried China creek this morning, not a sniff or any on the sounder. Headed out to bamfield trolled around Fleming and ended up trolling back to diplock ended up with 3 smaller springs,a few snapper and a good buzz!

Thanks for the report scotty. Did you see other boats getting lots of fish or was it slow around you. Thinking of heading over Monday.

Went 9 for 15 this morning between Dunsmuir point to Cous Creek. Spotty action at start, a nice bite around 6:30 and after 7:30 not a sniff. Nice sized fish, 20-40 feet depth using the normal bubblegum with black tandems and some success on some pink TKO's.

Was slow for everyone, heard of some people getting in to a few at south bank, and one other guy fished right in front
Of poets nook and caught 5 sockeye on anchovies. Everyone is hoping after a few more sunny days the sockeye should be schooling up again. Commercial opening again on Tuesday.

did well at cous creek this morning 30 to 45 ft. went 8 for 10 in a few hours fishing. not everyone having success several skunks from competent fishers. lots of fish on the sounder. fish were very feisty

We managed to boat 9 Saturday before it slowed down at 8-830, lost probably the same.

Today we managed five before 7 when it slowed for us.

Mostly around 40ft. Fairly scrappy and nice size.

We pulled a big donut today around China Creek, got on the water later than I'd like....nice day out there anyway. Does anyone know hoe long the commercial opening is for? 3 days like the last one?
Definitely want to head back for another shot.

this weekend should be **** hot for fishing as the hot weather will get fish piled up in the approach to the river

I'll download and post water temp/level and test seine data on Tuesday night
