shorecasting

I am wondering if there are any rocky outcrops or gravel beaches that hold flatties, greenling, big sculpins, etc in CR. I fly fish and gear fish. I overnight in CR every month or so for work and am looking for something to do.

No boat this weekend, but wondering if anyone knows any good shore spots to put a few crab pots down and throw a line in? Any piers or some rock ledge? Or are we wasting our time?

Anyone hitting Billings spit or the river lately? I heard the fish are there, thought it might be interesting if we get a little report section going. Ill be out tomorrow.
