Thanks for replies. Got it open.
Not sure if it was the oil, the wiggling or just luck but I got it to move.
Now I just need to make sure it does not happen again.
Tried some WD as that is all I had on hand. Will try something better but I don't think I can get at the part that must be seized. I believe it is the latch inside. Google has a bit on it and it's an issue. May have to drill cowling. Was hoping someone here may have experience with it...
So I went to do oil change yesterday and found the rear latch on Cowling is seized. Can't move it and afraid to break it.
Anyone have experience with with this issue?
Odd as I had it off last summer. Never had this issue before.
Thanks in advance
My Dad was friends with Jimmy Gilbert. When I was a kid I spend many days fishing off Jim's dock in Brentwood Bay. We used to catch perch with handline and had one rod we would put off the end of the dock with live perch for lingers. Carried them home squished in a rat trap on the back of...
After saying that I will follow up with I very much respect and appreciate those of you on boards and involved in fighting the process along the way . We would be in worse situation without you. My comments are referring to the public meetings that they have after they have made decisions and...
The meetings seem to be set up to show they gave opportunity for public input and for us to fill out surveys with loaded questions. Choose death by fire, drowing or... but no option for no death.
The Province needs to be in control of Fisheries, not Federal. Until then choose your form of death.
Sadly I vote for what I see as the lesser evil each election. Would be great to vote one day for someone I believe in.
They are all full of crap and will tell you what you want to hear.
None of them care about you or fishing. (there's my fishing content for admin)
I was there (Akumel) a couple years ago and booked a charter out of Cancun. Took Cab there and back. Next time I would choose something closer to resort. The cancun area was over fished and it was a not great fishing. Reports closer to resort were better. Weather and weeds are not great...
My understanding is chum bag for scent - Legal
Chumming - illegal
Hard to chum the water at 200-300 ft anchored in a current anyways.
I may be wrong but that is my understanding.
When you squeeze them you need to squeeze so the open end goes in the direction of completing the circle. Not squeeze from one side to the other. That is how you will avoid the gap or fatiguing the metal.
I would just save up for the islander if that’s what you really want. Anything else would be a compromise. It’s a one time, long term investment. Lots of lightly used islanders or new ones won in derbies come up for sale.
