That's pretty bad. I wonder if there will be knock-on effects on other species due to higher than normal pressure on them. People are still going to fish.
I'm an outsider in this discussion, but I would think businesses who primarily serve saltwater recreational fishing in the affected area(s) would have a leg to stand on when making a claim for buyout dollars.
Can anyone point me to some good crabbing options in the Sidney/Bedwell Harbor area? It would be good to pull up a trap or two after a day of getting skunked. Though with my luck recently, there'd be nothing in it! :P
Hooked into this nice bruiser yesterday. Fished both weekend days and ended up with 3. Did try for halibut a bit on the soft incoming saturday but no love. Seems like there were more boats out hali fishing than salmon, I assume because of the slow tides. Great weekend to be out either way!
Gonna head over that way this weekend. I have a couple ebb spots, but where's a good spot to hit on the flood? I'm thinking the NE side of coal island, but that's just a guess based on looking at a map.
