Right - and every time you comment on a thread, you become a watcher of that thread unless you turn it off.

Use the "reply" button and you don't have to highlight the text.

Click on the "Reply" button, bottom right (next to "Like") of the post and the "quote" will appear. Use this rather than the normal "write your reply" method.
