    Trailer registration theft

I went to renew my boat trailer insurance today. The broker said they couldn't renew my insurance because I sold my trailer earlier this year. The trailer is now owned by someone else and is registered by them. I said it's in my driveway still and I haven't sold a trailer in years. They took all...

Shimano Moocher reel old vs new

Ah, I thought the "waterproof drag" was a selling feature of the new 4000s and the old ones didn't have it. Same with the paddles. Reel #3 is probably an old 4000 then. Thanks!

Shimano Moocher reel old vs new

I'm cleaning up gear and wanted to replace the drag washers with the carbontex washers on all of my shimano mooching reels. I wanted to make sure I had them ID'd correctly as the washers are different. I thought the older reels didn't have the palming ring, but all of mine do. Newer style...

Yamaha Variable Trolling Switch (VTS) only working in neutral?

I made my own VTS cable/switch for my f50. I didn't see the need to spend $300 for a switch. My analog tach works fine, no need to upgrade to the yamaha digital tach with the built in vts controls. The switch works exactly as promised in neutral. By using the switch I can move the rpms in 50...

Heading to Porteau Cove this weekend with the boat. 28-4 has a few sponge reef closures. Pickled Pink Salmon

Thanks for this! I really enjoyed how it turned out. I doubled the brine recipe and 4 pinks made 8 pints. I wish I had kept more pinks now. Norwegian friends were saying they salt the fish in the same way, but then cover in olive oil instead of pickling.
