Yes you can. Often when we have been anchored for halibut and notice jumpers we will get out the jigging rod for some action while waiting. But as sly_karma said you need to either find bait or see fish because theres a lot of water out there if you just pick a spot and start jigging

200-225 on the rigger

Fished Wednesday and Thursday. Fished mostly offshore. Lots of fish around. Hitting lots of springs down deep, nothing huge but good average size. Hoochies and spoons is what we were using the whole time, lots of squid in the bellies. Picked up coho inshore. Great bottom fishing

Anyone been picking up springs around port McNeill lately? Been fishing the last couple days around malcom point and only finding coho and pinks. Tried going out deeper but not having any luck for springs

How is fishing around Port Mcneill at the end of July? I am going to Winter Harbour with a group from July 26th-29th and are thinking about bringing the boat up and leaving it with some friends in Port Mcneill to extend the trip through the long weekend after WH. Never fished the area before

Currently going through the same thing. As others have said I bought a couple of sheets of starboard. Removed the old panels the other weekend, planning on cutting and installing the new ones tomorrow. We’ll see how it goes
