Catching a halibut from a kayak would be no problem at all. Actual fishing kayaks are self bailing. They can fall off a truck at 80kph and still float. Flip it in the water 10 times and never sink. Just need a harpoon. Its becoming commonly done now.

In 2012 I caught one out of garden bay, Pender Harbour area off my kayak.

This fellow was caught on the mac deep lure just jigging up and down the first 100 feet of the water column.

Caught this fellow in maybe around 400 feet of water. He was suspended about 70 feet? (no electronics) Far west of bedford islands at cheanuh marina.

I dont drive a ranger. But for my Jeep i prefer BFG KO2's Smooth ride. Not super loud on the highway. a little pricey though
