I find they can be awkward to grab quickly on the bite. I much prefer gunnel or rail mount than any boom or rigger mount. I have had them on multiple boats and prefer the solid ones. You can turn them to get the right angle for your boat.

I would just call PDR (they make the factory ones) and have them build it. Get it to fiberglass and then its a simple bolt on.

Sounds like you need a small Honda generator. Might be a good option for extended stays then heavy Batts. It can power or charge you via shore power.
