Crabbing

I crab fairly deep 100' + Has anyone tried a glow stick in the trap to see if it makes a difference?

i just use raw chicken legs and get tons of crabs at 50 feet. mostly have to throw all of them back and end up with the usual 8 quota.

Yes I use chicken leg quarters but where I crab on the Hood canal, the indians crab and gooey duck harvest out to about 60 feet deep. i have to go deeper to do any good. They are also open before we are. Hoping to find a way to bring them in on an overnight soak.

I fish them in 140' , no problem . glow stick is interesting though

I'm going to try the glow sticks tomorrow and Friday. Will let you know if it seems to make a difference

You should throw a GoPro in the trap and see what happens. The glowstick will let you see whats going on.
