All Things COVID-19

After seeing on here 100 pages, every second of TV, Radio and life COVID 19, I have still not met, seen or even met ANYBODY who actually knows anybody with this "flu". ..HM
Well, a couple points to add as background to your comments, HM:
1/ As far as the "confirmed" positive COVID currently listed in Canada - it's about 1 in 600. Unconfirmed (false positives) and unreported (non-tested) could add substantially to that number - and nobody would know whether or not that was COVID they had, and

2/ One of the health experts stated early on that the best case scenario was that if we go through these mitigation measures early and successfully and they are effective - we would come-out the other end wondering what was that all about. I am cautiously hopeful that is in fact what happened...

Florida fishing charters are set to open soon. A 50 ft distance between boats fishing is one of the many new rules.......

On the other hand I know tons of people who's lively hood, financial state and future have been impacted and not in a good way. Trudope is in his glory handing out our grandchildren's taxes. One could argue that what has and is being done is CRAZYER than COVID after all the data saying many have had and did not know they had.

Still dreaming that my flights are a go end June????

One local friend had to leave work, quarantine and after a difficult illness, recovered. All immediate contact staff were off 14 days and tested.
One calgary friend's father was on a ventilator and has recovered, no word on how post recovery was.

i'll do you one better. coworker in the office just flew to alberta since his mother died of covid.

GLG, can you show the initial models as well? (I can get them but you're more efficient lol) Just want to show how far off these can be. But a 6 day model would be much more accurate. The Alberta ones released today were out to lunch though if anyone saw that...can post it as took a picture on my phone!
There are links to the April 9 story that talked about the model that I posted. From that story they provided a link to the PDF. Understandable that using a phone is not the best way to keep track of what is going on. Regardless here is a link to the April 9 model. Looking forward to your numbers and what you see.

Sounds like we will be able to fish with friends and family even if they don’t live in the same household by June if things stay on track! Fingers crossed

Where are you seeing this noted? As for lodges, this morning I was looking over the Moutcha Bay page and Nootka Marine Adventures states they won't be opening until June 25th in limited operations. This doesn't leave them with much of a season unfortunately. https://www.nootkamarineadventures.com/2020/04/28/covid-19-and-nootka-marine-adventures/

they're not the only ones either. They need border open. And don’t believe they’re operating all their lodges. Like other operations as well. Man I hope we can edit the regs a bit on the hali front otherwise 250,000+lbs left in water for sure (Unless we can carryover)

My guess is they will open with accommodations without guiding and you'll be self guided in your own rig. The restaurants / bars will be open under strict restrictions same as your local Cactus Club, once they're deemed eligible for in house seating. Then they could have similar to pending Air B&B rules where you have to maintain the room empty for a minimum of 24 hours between guests. So it will become a economics discussion, is it best to try and staff up for a peak of 8 weeks or so? Or just let the season slide? Meanwhile I'm letting my deposit ride...
