All Things COVID-19

All mathematical models and presentations of such are going to be scrutinized heavily as they should be. It seems to me at its core there is a degree of validity.

What I like about it is that in my mind it hits rather hard and offers support for the measures that have been taken and will need to be taken and indicates how dangerous this virus is and more importantly suggests a rather profound potential outcome if we had simply done little or nothing to control and slow it. That by using the 20 to 29 age group in an example, it also suggest that while it may be significantly more dangerous to older age groups, no one is immune to the risk it represents.

South Korea amassed the world’s most comprehensive coronavirus data. What it’s taught us so far

Quebec CDC claims the huge surge in confirmed cases over night is due to backlog of positive tests being processed. So we will see if that levels off because if it doesnt they're in super deep **** as noted above. Quebec CDC numbers only show a 15% recovery rate too...could be a lag in retesting the initial positive cases they move through treatment protocols perhaps.
Without standardized testing word wide this is essentially all moot. Hospitalizations and deaths are all that really matter if we're not testing everyone.

Only reason why are numbers aren’t skyrocketing is because of lack of testing!
Makes our useless PM actually looking like he is doing something!

China should be held accountable for this!

As for slowing down the measures..heard from a healthcare worker that September may be the earliest we see restrictions lifted!

With all the physical isolating that should be taking place one would think that the common cold should be reduced drastically. What alarms me is when when individuals show up at the hospital and have COVID symptoms the positive % From tests for COVID is still very low. This suggests to me that physical distancing is not taking place as it should. Another telling stat is the age group (50 and under) is 50% from all the testing.

Today Bonnie Henry included fishing lodges in her request for people not to participate in non essential travel. Seems likely no season this year.

Don’t think any fishinf lodges minus maybe some lake ones in interior are even open for 2 months or so (think langara is earliest at May 18)

There are many of our smaller communities that are very concerned about people coming to their vacation homes, to fishing lodges,” said Henry.

“And I am asking people now to forego those types of travel, all non-essential travel, particularly to smaller communities where we may not have the resources to support you should you become ill or should there be transmission in those communities.

“And that’s a really important thing that we need to do now to protect those who are more vulnerable in those communities, particularly our seniors and our elders in our small and remote communities around the province.”

Again what it it helps us get back to work. Please read the article. It is not to protect the wearer - it is to protect others
Thanks for bring this up again. In yesterday's briefing Dr. Bonnie Henry addressed this question and gave her blessings with some cavates. If you go to post # 969 of this thread and watch the video it comes up at the 30:42 mark. I tend to agree that if we start using them then maybe we can get back to work once we have gotten past this next rough period. On thing is clear tho we can't use a mask as a loophole to go back to business as usual. We need to stay the course till we get the all clear.

I’m EI exempt being self employed. This still pisses me off. As a country, we should be better than this.

Can you not take advantage of this emergency measures funding? My wife is a realtor and is investigating as well as her industry has ground to a halt.
