Anybody been up as far a Defense Islands lately? Heading out tomorrow, still trying to figure out where I want to go.

Finished the day with two more 23 inchers and 7 keeper crab got them all up there
I think you must have caught some of my crab up there :)
Fished the markers and bell buoy, same story 22incher
got a little choppy out there, beautiful day though

I was out for an hour until it got too messy for the wife and kid. Scraped a just legal up 81' on the rigger in 120' of water by the new cap marker. Chartreuse flasher and silver back herring aid skinny g. Lots of tiny shiny things in his belly.

Self isolation ain't too bad. No need to go to any stores with fish and seafood swimming right under the boat waiting to be caught. A warm bed, fresh water, electricity, TV to watch, bathroom, good music, fine aged whiskey, and best of all..mother nature for company. Think some people also call this a holiday.

Managed to find a nice sized mid teens spring that came un-buttoned near the boat out in the Straight as well as quite a few under's released with a couple of them very close to keeper size. Full medium Herring in glow heads down deep.
Prawning has been excellent on both sides of the straight with mostly large males.

That is one nice looking back deck, perfect rod placement
Thanks. I sure changed them around a lot last year playing with different locations and found that when I let guests grab the rods and set the hooks themselves lots of hits were getting missed cause of the struggles some were having getting the rods out of the holders depending on where they were and the angles the rods were to the cables etc. This is by far the best I've had them set up with ease of access to the rods and quickness they can be pulled up to set the hooks. When I stack each side I now moved another same type holder just ahead of the riggers angled back. Find it much better than any other combo I've tried. Hopefully there will be a lot less missed fish this season set up this way.
