Has anyone here tried an electric system for trolling? Seems like it would be quieter and use less fuel, but the devil's in the details. So far my quick research shows that in order to get 5-6 hours runtime pushing an 18' welded aluminium, I'm either going to add 400-600lbs of lead-acid batteries or pay ~$5000 for a big lithium battery.
Hoping that perhaps someone has tried this and found a better way?
