Fish bite indicator

Just curious if anyone has tried used the fish bite indicators for halibut fishing? You see guys using them all the time for carp fishing and bar fishing etc, and was curious if anyone has tried them for halibut fishing, my main concern being that every time the ball pounds off bottom it’s going to trip it, or even just coming up and down over the swells.

Cheers,
Michael

Braid has very little stretch. If youre using braided line and stiff rods meant for bottomfishing the rodtip is a pretty good bite indicator in my experience.

Yeah fair enough, just being lazy and saw them on amazon, and thought it might be a good way to not have to be paying attention to the rods!

clip on rod top bell works and cheap off flea bay......
bite alarms work with line being pulled over a wheel or reed switch to activate ..
other option would be a mercury tilt switch ....
i have thought of it as come from a UK carping background 76 -06.
now get out a try a hair rig ....lol
