On Navionics what on earth are the pink symbols that look like torches.

Guessing I would say Kelp/weed.

Look a bit like the kelp, weed symbols on my furuno but seems kinda deep for those symbols to be showing up. Maybe environmentally sensitive area or munitions practrice firing area? If the later I would think there would be a broken line border around the area... Just guessing also though.

Never seen kelp all lined-up in rows and columns like that before. Is there an MPA or RCA handy? If so - maybe they should switch to tumbleweed icons....

That's a good one. Usually, people ask about the pink duck icons. As an fyi, those are environmentally sensitive areas.

Not sure if it already does, will check next time I’m out, but it would make sense if the Navionics chart program allowed you to highlight symbols in order to get a definition. I thought it did?
