What to look for on used fiberglass hulls?

Step #1: Buy a small rubber mallet
Step #2: Knock hulls, transom, stringers...
Ring sound = Good
Thud sound = Bad
Gl

Thanks for the Info, I guess what I should be looking for too is a variance in sound for a similiar part of the hull.. Ringing/high pitch = dry. Low/pitch/deaded = possibly wet?

Do yourself a favor, find something you like and want then look at it if it looks good , something you would want, hire a good surveyor to look at it, then pull the trigger,, i was amaze at what the surveyor i hired in the states, the stuff he found on some of the boats we looked ateas amazing, i walked on two boats because of him

Buy an Arima and you won't have to worry about rotten stringers and bad transoms. If you get a 21 you will have the dance floor or the typical 24 of most other makes, and your fuel economy will be hard to match - just my biased opinion ;)

What did it cost per survey?

They seem like nice boats, the way they recess the main makes it look hard to slave a kicker off it though. - to small for me, but I figure this sells in 24 hours or less - https://nanaimo.craigslist.org/boa/d/nanaimo-17-arima/6869039694.html

That is a steal of a deal for a 17 if the motor checks out good! Should last less than 24 hours on CL.
I have had 7 Arima's over the years, they are pretty much bullet proof and the fishing space in the back of the 21SR is huge.
EZ-Steer works for a lot of Arima owners - I used Python remote electric steering on my previous 17 Chaser and really liked it. Planning to do the same with my current 21SR.

250$ US per boat, but because i had him survey 4 boats in 10 days he was charging me 150$ each after the first one, i had 4 boats lined up in that area that where potential buy, stayed at the casino for 10 days with the wife, shoping for boats, if i did not find what i was looking for we where heading to florida to do the same , turn out the boat i wanted the most out of g the 4, grady gulfstreem was rotten, ended up buying a wellcraft 25 sportsman, also looked at a 28 boston whaler that was a beauty in excellent condition but too much boat and money for the timebeing. So far really happy with what i got.Took over a year and multiple trips to the island and the mainland and the states to find it. I shitt you not i looked at over 20 boats and 16 of them where rotting, and did not feel like doing a re and re on a transom and stringer
