Coroners Report on Yukon Grizzly Fatalities

Unfortunate train of events,, tough stuff all around.

The importance of these findings is that the circumstances of these unfortunate deaths is that the bear was emaciated, also injured. This wasn't a case of grizzlies randomly preying on humans. Grizzlies and humans can co-exist. I posted these findings to express that this was not a case of habitat over run with grizzlies, as Jim Shockey stated immediately after this event. Sometimes I think we need to get the circumstances surrounding such an unfortunate event before we jump to conclusions.

An argument could be made that the grizzlies state was the result of an overpopulation of bears. It could have very well been run out of the good feeding grounds by an aggressive male in it’s prime. I would actually say that this situation is exactly what the pro bear hunting crowd has been concerned with; old, past their prime bears, being pushed out by the new alpha and getting aggressive.
I’m no biologist though. One thing I do agree with you on is that we shouldn’t be jumping to any conclusions.
