Strategy for the Northern and Southern Resident Killer Whales

Hahaha yeah, I read that article last night and first thing that came to mind was I wonder how long til the fish farms produce this article as science proving they actually help whales by keeping wild salmon in the water.

Leaping humpback whale on Vancouver Island cracks boat window with head bang

"Peter Hamilton, director of the animal-rights group Lifeforce, was on the boat last Thursday and says the experience with the bus-sized whales was a bit unsettling.

He posted a video of the close encounter on YouTube, and it shows the whales checking out the boat before one of them leaps into the air and smacks its head on the window as it lands in the water."

exclusion zone?

Lets not forget it was successive Federal governments that reduced Chinook hatchery production by 20 million smolts, closed down the habitat restoration work funded Federally. The Provincial Liberals killed the Habitat Restoration Program. The downstream outcomes are predictable....so here we are today. We need to hold those same Governments to account and demand action to protect Chinook and the habitat they need to thrive.

Indeed, the current 100m regulation for regular whales isn't enough. Not to mention, anyone who has any experience on the water around Humpbacks will tell you they are not too savvy when it comes to understanding boats, and have a habit of leaping out of the water. Not the first vessel to be damaged by jumping/leaping humpbacks. So best to stay well clear of them and not place yourself in the danger zone.

Amazing how the government will do anything but actually spend money on immediately enhancing the Chinook population which would actually do something to address the problem...
Instead of re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Close all fishing, national news.

Shows you what a dozen people can accomplish if they’re media savvy.

Lol. Is this a misquote or did the salmon farming spokepespoke actually say this:

“The science tells us there’s no evidence that fish farms have no impact on wild salmon,” said spokesperson Shawn Hall
