When you have an entire department of Environment Canada officers with no staff at all, and all there powers under the gutted fishery act gone, and not coming back ( Trudeau lied he restored some but not all ). A Ministry of Environment with same team that brought us Mt Polly and Shawnigan fiasco at the top still in power there isn't much hope. This is the number one most overlooked issue as anglers we face with our fish survival. We spend so much time arguing what we are going to get in ocean we never point finger back at government to protect our rivers and streams. The fact is many industries don't comply and the government never enforces anything. So we are stuck. This is just another case of the same thing that will repeat across the province this year.
