Tofino Resort + Marina is excited to host the first annual, Race for The Blue Tuna Shoot-Out, September 7-15th, 2018 and we want you to join us. Come experience the excitement of the blue water and Pacific albacore tuna fishing while supporting a sustainable fishery in B.C.’s rarely-visited offshore paradise.
The event will begin the evening of September 7th, with a mandatory Captains’ meeting at Tofino Resort + Marina. On September 8th, the action kicks off as the Shoot-Out competitors race out into the great big Pacific blue for classis tuna frenzy and rare encounters with wildlife like sharks, sunfish and dolphins.
The event features a $25,000 grand prize, based on a four-fish aggregate score, and the wrap-up party on the15th will feature live music and plenty of classic stories of the one that got away.
