Log out problems?

Just did a little test.

If I go to www.sportfishingbc.com and hit the forum tab, I am logged in.
If I use my old 'quick tab' to go straight to 'new posts', I am logged out.

My suggestion is to delete you old bookmarks and renew them.
I think this may be what @chrisp was referring to in the casched page addresses.

Quick question, is this log out happening when you are trying to get to the "New Posts" page?
Or should I say that you have a saved/bookmarked page for "New Posts" and when you get there you are logged out.

I think this is what is happening to me, so I would like to see if it is common among us troubled ones.
Yes I have a shortcut on my phone to the new posts page and now I have to re login 95% of the time. Not the end of the world though

if i go to the home page first for the website it does not happen, deleted bookmark, but still happening.

I access the site it is through 'new post' shortcut i have set up. I arrive logged out. Then, when I log in i can hit 'new posts' for a while and stay logged in until i step away and my computer 'sleeps'. When i return I am logged out

I deleted my shortcut to the new post section and then logged into www.sportfishingbc.com and hit the forum button and saved what came up as my new shortcut. All per Gong Show above (Thank you) and I am staying logged in so far. I even restarted my computer and tried it and so far so good

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the trouble with this logging out issue. We are forcing the server to load https:// or secure pages, so when you click on any of the menu links or links to any posts or threads you will be taken to a secure page and will stay logged in. If you get redirected to an http:// page and/or get logged out, your browser is pulling this page from its history. This also happens when visiting the site from a bookmark or URL that uses http:// (non-secure url).

To fix, follow these steps:

1. Clear your browser's history—delete website data but keep cookies (so you retain login info to this site, online banking sites and other sites you log into).
2. After clearing your history, go to this secure page—https://www.sportfishingbc.com/forum/index.php?threads/log-out-problems.69640/page-2
3. While on this page, refresh your browser several times (F5 on a PC or Command-R on a Mac).

It may take a few refreshes for your browser to cache the new https pages. When it does, you will stay logged in.

Again, apologies for the trouble. Let me know if you are still having issues after following these steps.

Cheers,
Chris

hey crisp, When you say clear history, how much history are you clearing? One day or all of it? Also my wife asks me why don't they fix it? It had been running flawlessly since you reworked the site and well after everyone else started to have problems. Then it just started last week to not stay logged in. I'm getting used to logging in every time so it's not a biggie. Thanks eman;).

Eman - I did what Civano suggests and it worked for me. Delete shortcut, log in again, then save shortcut...no problems after that. Good luck.
