Justin Trudeau announces 1.2 Billion for the Ocean protection act......

Of that,
the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard,
announces 7.2 million for fancy new hydrophones and experts to listen to the ocean for whales, mainly the endangered Sourthern resident Killer Whales. (The whales main issue is lack of food (Chinook salmon) this will help right?)

Another 1.2 million to the Pacific Salmon foundation to restore wild Pacific salmon,
their aquatic ecosystems, and the myriad of species they support.
(Should be sufficient right?)

Another 0.4 million for a technical review of contaminents in wastewater......

Sad

Thats it????? How about money to actually INCREASE salmon and repair freshwater habitat? The amount going -- $1.2M is nowhere near enough to do the job!

Bunch of clowns at the rudder...
May as well be rudderless... Not much difference.

Not sure if things are much different down here in WA. Recent news article says at least 40% of returning Coho die from pollution in the rivers. We have had Chinook restrictions since 1978 w/o improvement.
