Anyone want to share some info on methods for getting halibut while out on the highway of WCVI? We are going to be fishing out of Nootka in a few weeks and are wanting to find some but have never done it. Thanks. TF

find the areas marked "G" means gravel 200-250' deep. green and white hootchies with green flashers. 18-24" leader , 6' behind cannonball.. slow troll, 1.5 mph. slow the boat right down ,like 1mph or less ,let er down til ya touch bottom, stir the bottom, speed back up to 1.5 and slow back down to hit bottom. repeat until chicken nibbles. sometimes they bite and swim along so you wont even know you got em=ping pong paddle... sometimes ya get a monster.

Anchor up on the Pins Or Just South of the "T" with a chub bag & hold on.
We have not seen this many Halibut each day hitting the Marina cleaning tables in years.
Most boat are basically fishing/catching Springs on the flood tide on the Highway.
Then going to structure just landward of the Highway for Hali. Or the reverse depending on tides.
Be Safe out there some windy days are not worth the effort off shore.
