Just get a ruger 10/22 new. They are great 22's. Good price. Lots of parts for them.

I will second the ruger 10/22. There cheap brand new and you can get "hot lips" magazines for them that hold 30 rnds.

if i remember correctly a non restricted firearm ie 22lr/pump shotgun/hunting rifle etc (not a weapon) must be unloaded for transport.

as for shooting it depends on what your shooting at. for hunting you cant be under power, and i remember something about being docked or at anchor. if you were shooting at bobbing cans in the water you just cant be under power

owner would have to have a PAL too

what are the regulations for having a gun aboard? im sure you can not just have a loose weapon floating around.
i,m near 70 and have had a gun on board all my life....
my boat is federal registered commercial.
and i sport fish off it also.
however , i believe you can have a gun on board any boat, as long as it is all legal.
floating around would be a bad thing...lol

Guns don't float. :D
really? I would think if it was in a floating gun case it would.
as for regs am not sure what it takes to carry a firearm on your boat. trigger lock? gun locker? ammo in separate compartment? and as you are not going to a hunting site or range is it legal even to have it aboard.

Unless it's a restricted firearm, if you are transporting it it must be:

A) unloaded

Most .22s are non-restricted. If I kept a gun on my boat, which I don't because I'd hate to lose it to theft, I'd soak it in oil and keep it in a simple cloth case with an oily interior, not an airtight box. Too much corrosion inside cases in my experience.
