how are VI rivers doing in your experience/opinion??

The fact is that we have logged the hell out of this province...if it was marketable it has been logged already. What's left is the crumbs left over after the banquet. A hundred years of commercial logging has hammered our rivers and streams; and our fish. This is just kinda of a fact.

The private vs crown land having different rules is crap too! Should have to stick to the same rules.

Professional foresters do have a high level of interest in their industry, but at times it does seem like the deregulation in the last dozen years has left the "kids in charge of the cookie jar"

You do see less "bush oil changes" for skidders and a bit less trash than you used to in the woods. But you can't leave a road open without joe public throwing out roofing materials or worse.

As Canadians we have been exploitive of every resource industry we have ever come across...it is an ugly legacy, and an ugly truth. Really we still have very little political will to be responsible with our resources...because when they dry upwe can always find another one...like LNG!
