Do your prawn traps keep trapping out of the water?

I have had many creatures trapped in my prawn traps out of the water.Today i found a bird alive and released.I only have two traps that don't collaps for stacking and storage ,so i imagine this is a problem for some others.

Had the same problem so I tarped mine.

I have birds in mine all the time, in my box traps. It's strange

Seems like tarping them is the solution .Even in camp waiting to hit the water have had mice and a mink trapped in box style prawn trap.

My lab got into mine, I guess all the pellets did not get washed out!
I always tarp too.

Mine are covered with a tarp. This year a rat must have gotten in from the bottom and chewed a few holes to get out. Wrapped up good with a tarp from now on.

Rats are the worst if you live in the country especially near the ocean. Was fine for many years then one spring I pulled the traps from the storage shed and they were riddled with holes.

I have a couple of wire mesh traps, and discovered a rat in one.. in my storage shed.. I decided to go prawning,

apparently he couldn't swim..

problem solved...
