You mean

The original post could have possibly been posted by a DFO member. Not surprised if they lurk around here. While someone who poaches deserve the penalties the laws impose on them, a DFO member could have twisted the facts about the story on the sunshine coast which is an outrageous poaching and deserves the highest fines and a lifetime ban, they may have twisted the facts to say that it was those fines imposed on someone who retained 1 chinook. Wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't be the first time that DFO does dirty tactics so that they don't have to get their assess out of their cozy offices to patrol the water. ****, if they found blatent and over the top violations that one day they were out, imagine what they could do if they were out everyday like the US fish and game wardens in the US who do their jobs to protect their waters and their resources from poachers. That idiotic commercial guy that set hundreds of prawn traps in a sponge reef does more damage to the existing and future prawn and other fish stocks than what recreational anglers would take out of the waters for many years.

Buddy. Relax. You are giving DFO too much credit. They are a bunch of dumbf!!!! following Captain Turdos orders so that they may keep their jobs. Follow the rules but rage against them.

This is wrong, correct? The purple part. Only 29-1 and 29-2 are open for retention starting July 15. The portion of the purple zone in 29-3 29-4 and 29-5 is still closed for retention till Aug 1.

Do people agree? Otherwise I’m hitting Thrasher hard on the 15th. :)

Yes chart above has an error 29-3/5 portions c&r until aug 1
Jason lays it out pretty cut and dry.
Don’t be that person keeping springs in the wrong areas
felt it needed posting - back to reports

According to that map Thrasher is well inside the blue line

Thrasher is where 17 & 29 meet. 29-2 portion good to go just don’t drift into 29-3 until aug 1 to retain.

exactly same question I had. Hard to imagine there’s much they can do. I believe the burden of proof lies with them but maybe there’s something I don’t know.

In the states, you can’t fish an area if you have a fish on board that is not legal to be caught in that area.

so, in the above situation, fish for coho first, then chinook.

I don’t think our GPS tracings mean diddly squat.

Take pictures holding the fish with Thrasher Rock Lighthouse in the picture . Make some kind of distinguishing mark on the fish with a knife , so it can be easily identified .
Just an idea .

Keep talking about this on an Internet forum and DFO will shut down everything next year. The idiots who made these nonsense regs should’ve thought better. Just get out and fish. Would be nice to see a fishing report here at some point too.
