20 plus Hourston wanted

Hello Everyone,
I’m currently looking for a 20 to 21ft Hourston sedan project ( I know like everyone else). I am looking for a boat like this for my family. I am not a wheeler dealer just another tradesman with more time than money. If anyone knows of a 20 footer with a blown inboard or spongy decks please let me know. I have posted a pic of my lapstrake sailboat as resume for the quality of work I’m capable of in case someone didn’t want to see another Hourston go to a hack!

Thanks Again,

Nik

Don’t overlook a 206 Double Eagle.
Love Double Eagles, fantastic boat. My very good friend has a 195 and it’s awesome. If I am going to start with a basket-case though I prefer the lines of the Hourston. But again thanks

I owned a 2006-206 De and your better off with the 185 DE with 2 pedestal seats, there's very little room behind the seats in the 206 IMO.That's the main reason I sold the 206.

99% of guys with 21’s wish they had got a 23.5 ft sedan
That’s the unicorn! Isn’t it.
My thoughts, are trailerability and I would need to move my house back a couple of feet
to fit it in the driveway lol. However if a basketcase for the right price came along I would have a hard time saying no.

If that’s your boat in the pic I’m envious

Are you offering me a 23ft boat????????

I just about pulled the trigger on a 20’ DE (which is an exceptional boat) but this picture continues to haunt my dreams lol

Well the adventure begins!

:)
That looks like a 20' hourston no?

I have one. Did stingers, transom, pod..almost everything. Learned some lessons along the way. I have some pointers if you want to learn from my mistakes :p

I’ll post more pics as time goes on but have been super busy and sick with a cold the last few days. It’s been stripped out in two days. The stringers and transom are rotten to the core! However all the core samples from the keel are dry (even in the motor-well). The fuel tanks appear to have been replaced and all the glass windows, frames and fibreglass all appear to be good with no evidence of hydrolysis or impact damage. I will be creating a new thread soon for build photos but am burnt out today!
Oh! And FYI the guys at Totem towing pulled the engine out for $100 which I thought was totally reasonable!
