Good luck up there. Only the second time in 11 years I have not made it up there. Damn border closure.

Has anyone taken there own boat up to rivers inlet from Vancouver?

Ive been thinking about just curious of time, fuel costs etc

Any good places to stay with the boat, where to get fuel, that sort of thing.

I would tow to hardy and then run up if your able to.

The last time I took the ferry it was about $400 each way. Then fuel with the truck back and forth I’m up close to $1000 return.

I was wondering if others here had done it and what the experience was like.

Like Hippa said most guys tow to Hardy then run across. Sometimes there's a pack of boats in the morning making the crossing. TM from Big Coast runs from Vancouver twice a year no problem in his Kingfisher. Lots of places to stop for fuel on the way.

I am leaving from French creek next Friday Up to Rivers inlet/Hakai pass. Most guys trailer but I’d rather run the boat all the way. It shouldnt take too long to get up there and it’s better than staring at the highway for 4 hours to get to hardy in my opinion. A couple years ago I ran to Port McNeill from Powell river. I believe it was 5 hours roughly. Easy run if you can avoid the NW wind bucking the tide in Johnstone straight.

Dawsons Landing for fuel now, as Duncanby stopped selling fuel a few years ago.
